FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Fees & Services We Provide:

Therapy demands time, money, and emotions. It is an investment in yourself and your family. When you take care of yourself, you are helping your family as well.

The first session you schedule is a 60-minute session. During this session, I will ask you a lot of questions in order to get to know you better and to try to get to the heart of what is going on.

Initial Session: $220

Individual sessions are scheduled for typically 45 minutes, however, 60 or 90-minute sessions are available at your request.

For Teens and Young Adults: Since many teens and young adults bring themselves to the session, we can schedule monthly consultations as needed for the parents.

45-minute session: $165
60-minute session: $220

Joint sessions are scheduled for 60 minutes, however, 90-minute sessions are available at your request

60-minute session: $220
90-minute session: $330

Tele Therapy is a therapy session that is conducted online using video technology, similar to Skype or Facetime (but it’s HIPAA compliant). You will meet with your therapist just like you would in the office, only from the convenience of your home or office. All you need is a computer or device (phone or IPad) with a good internet connection, a webcam, and a microphone. Tele Therapy fees are the same as Individual or Joint Session fees.

Licensed in Texas and Arkansas for Tele Therapy sessions.

Sometimes clients need to check in with us in between our weekly appointments. Phone consultations under 10 minutes are free; phone calls longer than 10 minutes are charged at a prorated rate of the session fee by 15-minute increments.

Regular appointments are typically scheduled between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Friday. In some circumstances, other arrangements can be discussed but cannot be guaranteed. We will try our best to accommodate your request for specific appointment times. However, because of the limited “after-hours” times available, we also ask that you weigh the costs with the potential benefits of the counseling appointments and work with us on scheduling. “Return to School” and “Return to Work” forms are available, and schools (and jobs) have been very accommodating to our practice.

In cases of emergency, you are advised to go to the nearest hospital emergency room or call 911. We do not provide 24-hour on-call services.

If you are unable to make your appointment, please cancel with at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid being charged the full session fee. Because sessions are usually scheduled "back-to-back," we cannot allow sessions to overlap because of lateness. We strive to be on time and try never to be more than 15 minutes late.

Payment is due at the start of every session. We accept cash or checks for in- person sessions and credit card payments through Stripe for teletherapy sessions. We require a credit card on file for all session types

We are not in-network providers for insurance. We are able to provide you with a receipt to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Typically, insurance companies reimburse you a portion of your expenses if you have out-of-network benefits.

In therapy, we look at your personal issues, your life challenges, and any relationship difficulties you are experiencing. Therapy provides you a safe and supportive space in which to initiate change in your life. Some of the benefits of therapy include increased feelings of well-being, improved relationships, higher self-esteem, and resolution of the specific concerns that led you to seek therapy. Psychotherapy requires your active involvement, honesty, and openness in order for you to fully engage in the process and potentially change your thoughts, feelings, and/or behavior.

I wish there was an easy answer to this important question. This depends upon you and the issues you are dealing with. Everyone is different, but really, it ends when you have resolved the specific concern that led you to seek counseling. Some people benefit from a few sessions, and others prefer to come in for months. Each person’s therapy is unique and personal and it moves at its own pace.
